Valvular heart disease is defined by damage to or a congenital defect in one or more heart valves (mitral, aortic, tricuspid, and pulmonary) (VHD). Cardiac valves exist solely to facilitate free forward blood flow via the heart. Damaged or defective valves can cause one of two problems: they either fail to open properly, obstruct blood flow, or they leak, allowing backflow (a condition known as regurgitation). Regurgitation occurs when a valve does not completely close, enabling blood to return to the chamber from whence it came. We give comprehensive care at a reasonable cost.
