Stress echocardiography is a diagnostic test that uses ultrasonography to show how well your heart muscle pumps blood to your body during a controlled workout session. It is most frequently used to identify a drop in blood flow to the heart muscle as a result of coronary artery constriction. This examination is conducted at a hospital or physician's office. Initially, a resting echocardiography will be performed. With your left arm extended and lying on your left side, a transducer—a tiny device—is pressed up against your chest. To facilitate the ultrasound waves' entry into your heart, a unique gel is applied. The majority of people will use an exercise bicycle or walk on a treadmill. You will be urged to walk (or pedal) more quickly and on an uphill at regular intervals (approximately every three minutes). It seems like you're being asked to run up a hill or walk quickly. Generally, you will need to pedal or walk for five to fifteen minutes, depending on your age and physical ability.
